My Journey through Night
One of the most important questions anyone has ever asked me, was how free I wanted to be? I looked at him and thought to myself, what a stupid question, of course I wanted absolute freedom. Or did I? I ask you the same question, how free do you want to be? However, I am not looking for an answer just yet. I am gonna ask you to take a journey with me, and I promise you, your understanding of freedom is going to change.
HELLO
I'm Hector.
How do I begin to tell you about who I am when that changes constantly? I have been so many things; I have fought wars that nobody will ever read about in the history books. I have been the shadows and the light; I have known such pain that has crippled many. I have scars that are unseen to the naked eye and those that you can't miss. I am a jigsaw puzzle; I am an image composed of thousands of fragments. I am a single dad of two boys, a recovering addict, I have a full-time job, and I am a full-time student. I have a very full life; it hasn't always been this way. I look back on my life, and I have to admit, I feel like a fraud. But hope is my motivation to talk about this. The story doesn't feel like mine to tell, yet it is very much mine, for it is my story. My name is Guerrero, and I am a WARRIOR!
